This song has helped me calm so much lately. I’m at the end of my PhD, trying to finish writing, get a business off the ground, support my girlfriend who’s Mom died less than a year ago (she asks like she’s OK, but I see the pain in her eyes) and who’s only sibling just moved across the country, help my parents decide where/how to retire (cause they’re trying to following me to be close, and currently live abroad). Two family friends died last year, both sudden and one whom I deeply regret not saying a proper goodbye too. I gained 40 pounds and feel like a failure. Wow, 2019 was a rough year. But every time I need to calm, focus and collect my thoughts, I play this song. Then I’m reminded that there is an end to this storm, it’s within sight, I just need to hold on a little longer. Cherish your anchors folks. Whether it’s a loved one, community that feels like home, your relationship with your maker (any you believe in), ultimately those anchors remind us how to have faith in ourselves and weather the storm.

Steady me now For ppl who lost loved ones Me: crying bc i said that
Personally I dont see this with a connection about god I see it how a family member or a bf or gf is helping you steady yourself from depression and pulling you out the pit

When I get tired of fighting all of the fears I've been finding, you have me a breathe, tell me to rest, you've never left. I can hear you calling by name, pulling me up from under my shame. I'll never be the same. I can face anything, so let it reign😭😭😭

Skillet bringing it's fans to Christ, truly inspirational.
This song came out at the perfect time. I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease around the middle of last year and due to not knowing anything about it and my fear of hospitals (well more emergency rooms and needles) I honestly wasn't sure if I was gonna make it, but due to this song, taking my meds properly and constant support from my best friend/sister among other people I am happy to say that my Crohn's is pretty much under wraps. I also have separation anxiety possibly caused by either my dad or my ex-girlfriend but thanks to stuff like this and constant support from friends I've been able to make peace with my dad and be an irreplaceable friend to my ex (she even wants to have her oldest daughter to see me as a father figure since her daughter's dad has no rights to her whatsoever)
