Opis materiału Sully Erna 7 Years (with lyrics)

                  7 Years
If there was no tomorrow
would you still remain the same
or live your life, so shallow
and take it for granted everyday

So take away tomorrow
and tell me again why we blame
why we waste all our time
with bullshit and pride

time may not wait another day

oooh... oooh

So again, years grow back
so many tears I cried
now that we're through
I'll still honor you
and harmlessly swallow my pride

its time to fall away
Its time to separate
And maybe we'll be alright
Its time to fall away, and baby
maybe we'll be alright
Life is but the memories we've created
For all those too, remember you and celebrate our life

If all that we are
is all that we've been
these bridges were built in vain

can we get to that place
with dignity and grace
and live with all that remains

its time to fall away
Its time to separate
And maybe we'll be alright
Its time to fall away, and baby
maybe we'll be alright
Life is but the memories we've created
For all those too, remember you and celebrate our life
Life is but the memories we've created
Its time to fall away
It's time to separate... and fly

7 Years gone by!
For 7 years i've tried to make it
but how long can I take it
It's time to fly
7 Years gone by!

If there was no tomorrow
Would you still retain all your hate
or live your life with no one to spite
and free your spirit again

its time to fall away
Its time to separate
And maybe we'll be alright
Its time to fall away, and baby
maybe we'll be alright
Life is but the memories we've created
For all those too, remember you and celebrate our life
Life is but the memories we've created
Its time to fall away
It's time to separate... and fly

7 Years gone by
For 7 years i've tried to make it
but how long can I take it
It's time to fly
7 Years gone by!

for someone who listened it since 2011, i always thought the lyrics was about some couple breaking apart from a 7 year long relationship, but looking from another perspective, the two vocals are the body and the mind, as the male vocal as the body, and the female as the mind... they are conversating one with another about death, about the mind leaving the body...the first two parts body reflects about the condition of living and getting old and the time spent with "bullshit, pride and shallow life"body sings: "time may not wait another day" the body knows death is approaching;mind sings about depression and about a battle she took along with (and a bit against) the body, but knowing one can`t exist without the other (i`ll still honor you and harmlessly swallow my pride);they sing all together: "life is but the memories we created" both mind creates and keep the memories as the body moves and delivers it to the mind;they keep together singing about fall away, and separate... falling away a relationship is not commongly used term for breaking up."and maybe we`ll be alright" shows the doubt of life-after-deathmind: "can we gett to that place(...)" maybe heaven? "...with dignity and grace, and live with all that remains" live with all that remains is to keep going life beyond death...both: "for all those too, remember too and celebrate our life" for all those who was with the person dying, the family, celebrate the life, and the memories of the loved one that is going to die."time to separate and fly" again contemplating the life-after-death, letting it go...now the reason they`re singing about death, it`s an breakthrough thought who made me believe in my theory:this part the male vocal (body) is the only one who suffers from the physical effects of time, so he sings alone:body "for 7 years i try to make it, but how long can i take it", the body is terminally sick, possibly a cancer, and his fighting it for 7 years before his death.body returns, talking directly to mind: "would you still retain all your hate, or live your life with no one to spite and free your spirit again", stating that the mind in the verge of dying can have regrets about the life it tooks, and decisions that made the mind to turn in a mean character.maybe nobody will read this or few people, and you may disagree, is a great song though... it's a shame rock is dying, in a comma living from the past, fender and gibson great guitar companies fighting to not going bankrupt7 years after this song released, it feels like maybe i found out that it's about the death of mind and body...and death of rock aswell, as the mind (new people who enjoys creating it and listening to it) and the body (guitar companies) are vanishing to ashes...
